M&A is, I think, an useful way of making business. For example, because of the Renault-Nissan M&A, about 20.000 NISSAN employees lost their jobs and suppliers lost their major customers but overall this company which was in great danger before the M&A, finally survived. The M&A was a good way to provide shareholder value and enjoyment for the 128.000 remaining employees.
But, what’s about companies which base their development strategy mainly or just on M&A ? What ‘s about a systematic and well organized acquisition process, crunching each time the life of top to middle managers : the ones who don’t want or can’t change, the ones who are unlucky, the ones who have no choice … ? Do we reach here the limit where business is no longer for human being but just business for business ? Is it ethical ?
What is your opinion ?
